Welcome to Pez Cantina, a vibrant new staple in Los Angeles where the rhythm of Mexican culture meets the fresh, briny allure of the sea. Located at 401 S Grand Ave, this gem offers an enticing menu rooted in the traditions of Mexican seafood, serving fresh mariscos in an atmosphere that’s as lively as the flavors on your plate. Whether you're here for a quick lunch or a memorable night out, the energy is palpable, mixing the best of coastal cuisine with a lively bar scene.
The menu at Pez Cantina is nothing short of a culinary journey. Indulge in the Octopus A La Brasa, elegantly grilled and paired with salsa Veracruzana, house-cured ham, and a medley of fresh ingredients like fennel and olives. Each bite tells a story of depth and passion, showcasing the commitment to high-quality ingredients and masterful preparation.
We also recommend the Ceviche Tostadas, featuring local yellowtail cured to perfection with lime and crowned with avocado, cucumber, and a dollop of chile puya aioli. The balance of flavors in this dish encapsulates the essence of Pez Cantina — fresh, vibrant, and full of character.
If you're craving something heartier, don’t miss the Chimichurri Chicken. This half farm chicken bursts with flavor, served alongside crispy fingerling potatoes and grilled romaine hearts, all drizzled with chimichurri sauce for an explosion of taste that will keep you coming back for more.
Pez Cantina also shines with its variety of tacos — carne asada, al pastor, chicken tinga, and even a delicious vegetarian option featuring cauliflower and tomato. Each taco is skillfully crafted, served with handmade corn tortillas and topped with fresh cilantro and onions, delivering an authentic taste that speaks to the heart of Mexican cuisine.
The ambiance is as appealing as the food. With options for both indoor and outdoor seating, diners can enjoy a cozy dinner under a starry sky or vibrant social gatherings that buzz with laughter and conversation. Customers rave about the attentive service, which complements the dining experience perfectly. As Daphne B. shares, the energy and service manage to remain impeccable, even on busy nights.
Pez Cantina isn't just a restaurant; it’s a gathering place. Whether you're celebrating with friends or enjoying a laid-back lunch, the dining experience here adapts beautifully. Don’t just take our word for it — John T. insists, “Simply put, order the molcajete,” which showcases an impressive array of shrimp, beef, chicken, and vegetables, served with fresh homemade tortillas. It’s a feast that perfectly captures the spirit of the menu.

My company hosted me and my co-workers for Happy Hour. This also included Happy Hour food items that were placed in roll top chaffing dishes. The restaurant is esthetically pleasing and the spot was busting with a great vibe. Our server was hustling, polite, attentive, and very friendly. The drinks were well crafted and food was very tasty and flavorful. We all had a great time and we'll definitely be back!

Pretty good grub, great service and atmosphere. They were very busy for a Tuesday, they were able to accommodate an immediate large party for our group. We had absolutely NO complaints or service gaps. I definitely recommend Pez Cantina!

It's my go-to place if I'm in the area. They have indoor and outdoor seating, accommodating for both small and larger parties, or just with a few friends. The ambience changes depending which part of the restaurant you get seated. The service was good, as well as the food. They also offer alcoholic beverages on the weekdays during lunch. Give a try if you haven't been.

Simply put, order the molcajete, you will not be disappointed. As you can see in the photo it is an array of shrimp, beef, chicken and vegetables. They serve this with fresh homemade tortillas as well. The service was good here and we sat outside on a cool spring evening. Can't beat the ambiance!

My co-workers and I came to Pez Cantina for a department lunch meeting. Upon arrival, we noticed how busy the establishment was, but were able to get seated within 5 mins! I suggest making a reservation to ensure a table. The interior was cute, gave off a late night upscale bar vibe with the dark interior and LED lights. There was also a back room with a large window to allow in the sunlight and even outdoor dining was an option. Since we didn't have a lunch reservation, we got seated in the back room. I ordered the Carne Asada Pamzabos and the Guacamole w/ chips to share. The guacamole was creamy and delicious! I enjoyed the lemon/chili seasoning that was sprinkled on the chips. The Pamzabos was super flavorful and cooked to perfection! The fries I received with my meal were nice and crispy (just the way I like it) with that chili/lemon seasoning. The server was very attentive despite the number of customers and was again super polite! He gave us some recommendation and was very apologetic about our drinks arriving after our meal had arrived (Delays in the kitchen).

Pez Cantina is our go to happy hour spot after work. The service is always amazing, and the food and drinks are delicious. My fav are the shrimp tacos and the hibiscus margarita.

Wow top quality food here. Everything we ordered was really good. Food was fresh and good quality and portions for the price. Staff was A+, super nice and on the ball. Menu has lots of tasty options to choose from. Bar and drink menu looked great. Interior was clean and hip and fun. I will come back for sure....

Pro: drinks, aesthetic, welcoming. Grow: salsa needs some spice. Pez cantina feels like an oasis in the heart of LA. They have a nice patio with a fountain as well as plenty of indoor seating. The staff was all so welcoming and I loved the dia de los muertos decor they had. The menu was authentic in flavor yet creative in presentation. Overall, it is a gem in downtown La and a great place for drinks and Mexican food. Food: I loved the chips, salsa, and guac presentation. The guac was a 10/10 and salsas were flavorful. The only complaint is that none of the salsas were spicy enough for me. I do think once of the 6 should have a kick to them. We tried the scallops and fish entree. The seafood is fresh and well balanced. I would definitely order the scallops again. The molcajete had a beautiful presentation and good variety. Drinks: the bartender was doing their job! The drinks were all 10/10. They were flavorful yet not too overpowering. I loved the dia de los muertos cempasuchil special. Great job Pez Cantina.
